Huntenkunst 2026 saved!
The last Huntenkunst in May was, as usual, another successful edition. It attracted many visitors and the SSP Hall was also fully booked with participating artists this year. The organization received many compliments. Given the size of our festival, the SSP Hall is the right space for us. It is important that the artists are given a stand in a responsible manner, in which their work can be optimally presented by them. As an important and well-organized festival, we cannot do without a large hall such as the Ulft space. You won’t find them nearby. It is not for nothing that we left for Ulft in 2012. Despite our appealing activity, we remain vulnerable to whether we can have a suitable hall. Until recently, there was no certainty about this. Unfortunately, we were not able to announce the dates for the upcoming festival during the last Huntenkunst. This was regretted by many art lovers. The survival of Huntenkunst was at stake.
We are now pleased to announce that we have been able to determine the dates. Our efforts have resulted in the SSP Hall being available next year as well. Huntenkunst is scheduled for May 29, 30 and 31, 2026. Fortunately, a period of uncertainty has come to an end. Already at the council committee meeting of June 19, there were already the first signs that things would turn out well after all. The responsible alderman Janine Kock referred to the interests that our organization represented. She therefore did not question the preservation of Huntenkunst. In addition, she was of the opinion that there were sufficient financial resources to keep the SSP Hall usable. As an organization, we experienced that various committee members recognized the value of our festival and wanted the survival of our festival. In addition, there were council parties, who believed that it was up to the council to decide on the destination of the hall. This means that whatever happens to the DRU Industrial Park, the municipality will continue to feel responsible for the buildings. The latter provides our organization with certainty for the coming edition, because we can possibly fall back on the municipality as owner as far as housing is concerned. In addition, we have now received a quote from the DRU Industrial Park about the use of the SSP Hall. Despite a loss of time, we can now get to work.
The country project is now also known. Next year, artists from Ireland will be the focus of Huntenkunst.

PRESS RELEASE HUNTENKUNST 2025
LOTS OF ENTHUSIASM FOR HUNTENKUNST 2025
On 23, 24 and 25 May, the 31st Huntenkunst will take place and it is traditionally held in the SSP hall in Ulft. There is a lot of enthusiasm to participate. Already in December, the hall was fully booked and from then on new applications had to be placed on a waiting list. Entries come from various countries, including outside Europe. Participants are listed on our website www.huntenkunst.org. The many foreign artists make Huntenkunst a truly international festival. As an organisation, we can be proud that we have managed to grow into an appealing and well-known art organisation with only volunteers. A special event is the country project. This gives Huntenkunst an extra special colour. For this year, artists from Latvia have been chosen.
With kind regards,
Harrie Schenning
